The dictionary meaning of Biodegradable is:
Capable of being broken down by biological agents, especially bacteria.
Or: Capabale of being broken down into innocuous products by the action of living things such as micro-organisms , biological agents, especially bacteria.
My question then is "How can anything that kills bacteria be called biodegradable as there would be nothing left alive to break it down into safe products that nature can deal with."
Message: Please do not think that the word biodegradable on a product means safe to handle or use.
Check all warnings on a label before using the product so you are aware of its requirements.
